The frame VIN is at the location and orientation shown on all 250/305 Dreams. Just aft of the lower engine mount on the left side. That's the number that should match the title.

Post by joshm83 » Mon Feb 09, 2015 10:04 pm

Ok guys here is what I found out. My vin is c78-1015087 and my motor number is ca77e-1015229. Does that sound right for a 1967?

The year on the title for these bikes is the year that they were sold/titled. You can look at the wiring harness, it should have a tag with it's year of manufacture, and likely that's the bikes year of manufacture too. I wouldn't get too hung up on the model year though, I don't think there was any change in the Dreams from '65 to '67. The frame and engine numbers are the most important info for parts. The bike I posted pictures of is titled as a '66 and it's a higher number than yours, so I guess yours could have been built in '66, probably not '67 but was first titled in '67. Again though, the most important thing is that the frame VIN matches what's on the title.
