All of the ones on Ebay now are in comparable crappy condition. Is it possible to revamp it or will I need to shell out the $300 on CMSNL for one?

I purchased one and very nicely made it is I have not fitted it yet as my bike is off the road till the summer fine weather rider me.
It cost me £114.00 to ship to the UK, yes cost's a lot but at the end of the day how much is it going to cost if that cam chain go bang, if any one going to purchase one in the UK PM on some tips on customs charges from the states.

I read a post here several years ago about refurbishing the rubber wheel on a bench grinder.
I tried it and it worked well, but the wheel has to be in fairly good condition to start with.
You grind the ridge until it it's smooth then grind both sides until you have a nice ridge in the middle again.

Do they have something similar to this for CA's? Or are the tensioners cross compatible? I noticed the CA ones have a different number than the CB tensioners.

I believe there's a few threads showing people rebuilding those wheels and using Kawasaki H1 Tensioner wheels and some other modifications.

If you Google "Cam chain tensioner site:honda305.com" it'll pull them up. I believe all those engines are compatible with the same tensioner wheels.

Thank you for the tensioner, it's in great shape. After installing it, I can still hear that chain slapping around, I'm convinced that the chain itself is just wore out, I don't think it's ever been changed. They're on eBay for $40, which isn't awful.

I can move that chain side to side, pull it in and out, etc inside of the tensioner hole, I'm sure it's stretched out beyond normal use.
