Hoodooman,

1. You deserve BIG applause for starting one of the most entertaining threads this forum has seen in a while. I had several good chuckles while reading. But, its probably kind of like a bar fight: a lot more entertaining to watch it than to be in the middle of it.

2. You wrote "it's been running that way for probably 15 years now (since i've owned it). the bike has 43,000 miles on it." I would say you have probably proved that at least your motor doesn't need that screen. I am in the middle of building two motors and I will be pretty pleased if I get that many miles out of them.

3. LM is crusty for sure and he can seem pretty cranky. But, I bet he would still be happy to help you as he has helped just about everyone on this forum.

4. You wrote, "i have no idea where to find one in good shape, and i'm not much of a 'bayer." See #3 above.
