Ed,

Thanks. I agree 100% about the ball bearing and your conclusions are sound as is the logic. No issues from me there.

Jensen,
You are also correct about the roller bearing and that was not being questioned (by me at least).

Hi LM,

Yes, I mean the ball bearing.
I have two sizes, different OD's.

I'm not confused with the other side,

Hi Teazer,

No, no one was questioning that, it was just info I wanted to share. I have seen a lot of old cranks, and many of them suffer from damaged surface on that area. I was just curious why, and I found out that the hard layer on that particular area is very thin. I also seen cranks where pieces of the hardened surface are missing. First I thought it was a lubrication issue, but it's not.

Hi LM,

According to my nr. 2 and nr.3 parts manual it doesn't exist, but the slip says 91002 259 000.
It only fits in very early crankcases, and it isn't a roller bearing either, it has "needles", but is a one piece bearing. The clip holds the parts together, and should be removed when installing the bearing.
I installed one of these bearings in my 1961 engine.

The other one is the one that fits the regular engine cases (the 91002 259 010).
