New Breather Plate ShieldPacking gasket won't fit 1963 CA77E

Post by RichardWlkr » Thu Jun 08, 2017 6:41 pm

Hi all, I have a 63' CA77E and I'm replacing 100% of gaskets to get my compression back up to snuff. I bought a package and it had every gasket I needed besides one, The Breather Plate Shield Packing (#16 in this picture).

I matched part # and ordered off Ebay however it wound up not fitting at all, here's the pictures of it not fitting over the Breather Plate Shield.

How do I get the right gasket if even the exact lining part # winds up not fitting appropriate?
Thanks for any help in advance everybody!

Why not just cut those two holes a bit bigger to match the breather plate?
