oil leak from head breather

Post by paul davison » Sun Nov 04, 2007 8:01 pm

I am currently having an oil leak from the head breather tube. When riding the bike oil pours out of this head port. I would asume there is a clog somewhere in the return passage ways. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Please tell us the engine type and what work or history you have of the engine. ...........lm

The bike is a 67 honda 305 superhawk. I inquired it from my father about three years ago. I disasembled the bike and painted everything. Other then that I did nothing to the engine. It has ran good since I have had it. The only thing that has been done to the engine my father did 35 years ago, it was replace a broken cam chain. I was told it could be an oil return passage that has been clogged. I am not sure which is the sending oil passages or the return passages.

Always more questions. When did this start? Has it been run much since the chain was replaced? Did you take the top off the engine when you painted the bike? .................lm

This bike has performed flawlessly for the past three years, till just recently. No nothing has been taken apart on the engine. Oil is pouring out of the top breather tube, the one on top cover of the engine.
