Cleaning is good but threads should NEVER be oiled or greased before toruqeing! All torque specifications are for DRY threads. You run a great risk of breaking the stud if you oil the threads.OldScrambler wrote:Suggestion..........clean the threads on the studs and then oil with 30w to get a good consistent torque reading..........
