Cam ChainCam ChainHello Everyone, New member here, I am in the process of freeing a stuck 305 engine from my 1961 cb77. Can anyone tell me the "trick" on removing the chain to pull the head off? I was thinking you had to remove the bottom case half, but after researching I found that the cam is perpetrated, I'm still stuck, please help any info will be greatly appreciated.
If you have to break the chain, any link will do. However, if you remove the tensioner, the top cover and/or the bottom case, with luck you may be able to get at the connecting link (the one with the clip). A long narrow slot screwdriver is a good tool to use to poke off the clip and disassemble the link.
Re: cam chainHonda didn't install endless cam chains in these engines.
I worked on a CB350 back around 1992 which did have a endless chain. ....................lm
