Timing chain

Post by Cur Mudgeon » Fri Sep 06, 2013 10:34 pm

Just purchases a '67 superhawk. Has no compression. I took the point cover off and the cam doesn't turn.
Question#1. Will the piston hit the valves if they are left open by a failed timing chain?
Question#2. Can you get the head off without taking the engine completely out?

Thanks,
Dave
