i gotta new rescue bike ca77e-1028679 i dont know what year i is as i can find no numbers on the frame. it hasent run in 30 yrs it has been a decrepit shed so basically it has been outside. its locked up naturally . im gonna try to make run first then worry about looks or just keep original patina. da plan is pull the top end and try to let bottom end soak w/ kerosene to try and move the sludge in bottom this winter, and reassemble in spring. gasket availability? prices ? any suggestions or helpful hints besides shoot it? service manuals? i gotta try to do dis on da cheap as im on the dole right now , got more time than money and its the last bike i have to work on .

Daves,

Please add your location.

There is a lot of info on this site. Since you have lots of time, learn to use the search function (above top of middle row). With it you should be able to find a parts manual you can download. You should also be able to find answers to about every question you will have. Ebay has a lot of parts and if you are patient you can normally find deals. Forum members will also have some parts.

The search function is not the best but, if you use different combinations of words and click the "posts" icon (lower left) you should have good luck.

If the cylinders were sealed up during it storage, instead of pulling the motor/head, you may want to try a mix of 50/50 ATF/Acetone in the spark plug holes. With the drain plug out you should be able to tell how much leaks around the rings. Keep a good bit on those rings. Be very gentle when you are trying to get it to break loose. If the tires will air up you might try putting it in 4th gear and rocking back and forth to see if you can get it to move. Be sure to drape a towel of something over the spark plug holes. If it does break loose, it will shoot that penetrating oil out the spark plug holes and all over everything in your shop.

I think you are on the right track trying to get the motor running to see what you have. God bless you for your efforts to save another vintage bike.

Hope this helps. Best wishes on your project.

Frame number is on the frame, left side by the foot rest, just to the rear of the engine case.
