305 Mods

Post by conbs » Mon Nov 12, 2012 1:07 pm

The CL305 carb and cam "bolt up". Higher lift cam and larger carb. 26 vs 22mm, IIRC. I don't know about the 350.

This was my point about reliability. The 305 scrambler is reliable so putting those parts in a Dream motor should be reliable, too and the rest of the motor is the same.

It does require some tuning to get things right. Others have done it, apparently with good results and I intend to get their input as I move forward. I also bought a Gunson's ColorTune for the final adjustments.

Hi,

Don't forget the vibrations, especially with a 360 engine

Fired an email off to Colin from Campbell'sclassicmotorcycles based in Sydney who breathes and races classic Honda's.
His outcome was to rebuild the engine and put on a nice exhaust and remove the baffles. Keep it simple. The parts required to do the cam, carb method were not readily availble here and if I wasn't after more HP, just a better note, then keep it simple.
Think I'll keep it simple at the moment.
Although you never know, things seem to always bee changing.
Cheers,
Scott.
