Why 2 Gaskets?

Post by uadmlj1 » Thu Sep 29, 2011 5:05 pm

I bought a complete CL77 gasket set. It has 2 left side cylinder head cover gaskets. Any one know why that would be? Nothing else appears to be duplicated. I don't think it is a mistake as the picture of the kit shows 2.

I've heard sometimes when tightening the covers the cams and or cam bearings can become tight.

I personally had no issues.

Shim?

Maybe some of our more experienced builders have another reason?

Left and right are the same, you need one for each side
