no cam shaft gear mark

I'm looking for a cam shaft mark on my chain gear and there are no mark ,know dot or punch mark on the gear.Using an endless chain ,can use some help on cam valve timing.

On the cam sprocket on the points side there should be a O,zero, and the points lobe mark should be up pointing to the zero.

Thanks steve that helps.got some bill silver info on where the punch mark should be and position,at 12 o'clock .Plus marks on end of points cam and postion very helpful.thanks tom
