I am confused about the different pistons and rings.
I have seen pistons with the same part number (13101-275-020) that look different. Some of the are very polished aluminum and others are very dull (probably not aluminum). Are they labeled incorrectly? What is the difference (if any)? Is one better than the other?
I have seen piston #13101-275-020 matched up with ring # 13010-275-000. Is this correct?
I have seen piston #13101-266-020 matched up with ring # 13012-275-000. Is this correct and is this for a ca77 rather than a cb77?
I have made an assumption that the 130x0-275-000 rings go with the 1310x-275-020 pistons and the 130x2-275-000 rings go with the 1310x-266 pistons. Is this correct.
Thanks for any help,
Mickey

Hi,
Pistons for a CB72 / 77, C72 / 77 or CL72 / 77 are always from aluminum. Sometimes they get dull, because of age or oxidation. As long there are no real scratches it's o.k. Actually I'm not aware if there are pistons from Honda not made from aluminum. jensen assembly of Japanese motorcycles requires great peace of mind (Pirsig)
