breather plate gasket question

Post by LittleRock » Mon Oct 10, 2005 5:41 pm

I need to know which way to install the breather plate and its gasket on the 305. One side has two elongated slots which do not seem to line up with anything and I cannot tell from the manual pictures which end they face. Can anyone tell me the proper position for this gasket? Thanks for any help, this forum has been a great help in reassembling this motor. Terry

Those slots go TO THE FRONT of the head. <br />Use a knife or something to get the holes in the gasket to align with the plate. ...............LM

Thanks again, Loud Mouse, not sure what you mean by using a knife as my new late gasket has the same holes that align perfectly with those in the breather plate. Are you talking about the gasket on the other side of the plate?

Sorry for the confusion. There have been many of the gaskets with Hole/Slots which were not located correctly to align with the metal spacer correctly. ............................emo
