My CB 77 is a roller. The engine is the last major piece I put in. After assembling the engine, complete with carbs, I set it on my little sears bike jack, on a couple of pieces of 1x4 so I could slide it back and forth a little, rolled it under the bike, and slid and raised it till every thing lined up. Bolted things in, and it was done. This is the easiest way I've used so far. Sure beats the "bull strength and awkwardness" (as my grandfather used to say) methods I've used before.
