Looking at ebay: 300257677107

I have a tensioner with the same wheel attachment method - and I'm looking at buying this replacement wheel: 260357196621

Can the wheel be changed - I had a quick look last time I was in the garage and it wasn't immediately obvious that it was designed to be swapped out.

My central idler is also fairly worn but this looks less critical, the tensioner though I would prefer to replace.

I might try the bench grinder method but I think my clumsiness would result in a flat spot. I have a friend with a lathe though.

I ended up buying an NOS tensioner (big bucks; but necessary). My motor takes the late model one (small); so the early model ones I have (with the hardened tensioner wheels) were not for the cylinders I'm using anyway. I would consider having aluminum replacement wheels machined for them if I needed an early model tensioner. They don't look too hard to remove and re-attach. There appears to be enough clearance for a circlip type attachment arrangement (more machining).

EMO would probably know about re-mounting a new tensioner wheel...
