Motor Oils

Post by Jim Stuart » Wed May 07, 2008 11:11 am

Is anyone using Mobil 1 or other synthetics in their 305's? I have a 1977 Superhawk with about 6,000 miles. I am thinking of trying the Mobile 1 to reduce further wear. Comments???

Thanks, Jim

Just one opinion

Bill Silver book states, "After a sufficient break-in period (about 600 miles), a synthetic oil may be used to help protect engine internals from excessive wear." Motor oils and what to use is like starting a discussion on politics. Everyone has an opinion and think they have the right choice. My overview of the whole situation, use good quality oil and change it often.
