CL77 305 Cam Chain Tensioner Roller

Hello - does the original tensioner come apart? How do I get the roller off its shaft? Everything looks like it was pressed together and not meant to be removed!

I have 40,000 miles on the bike. My tensioner is the original one, and it isn't smooth anymore - all little spikes. What is the danger with these tensioners? I try not to push it too hard into the chain, but it is obviously deformed and I'd like to replace the roller.

Any help on how to disassemble the roller is welcome!

Unfortunately the tensioner roller pin is burred over so the only way to separate the roller from the shaft is to grind off the end. This then leaves you with the problem of getting a roller and securing the pin so it won’t come loose. A quick splash of weld would do if you can find a replacement roller.

Something very hard and tough - you don't want that flying to pieces in your motor!
