Need CB160 head acorn nutNeed CB160 head acorn nutBecause I'm a grayhaired old bonehead, I managed to post this in the wrong section the first time around. So let's try this again.
I'm short an acorn nut for my S90. It is the same nut used on the head studs of a CB160 (and probably other 160's) and the shock mounts on S90 machines. It is a standard acorn nut, without a flange on the bottom. It has an 8mm 1.25 thread and the important part is a 14mm hex. Standard today is 13mm hex and Honda superseded this nut with a 12mm hex. If someone has one they can spare of an old engine, I would really appreciate it. Happy to pay for the nut and shipping. I have a feeler out on the S90 site and might get lucky there. But thought I'd put another line in the water over hear as well. Part Number is 94021-08000 Thanks, Rob Hope someone has a used one for you because, while they're readily available for under $1 to $2, the parts places want $8 to ship. Example: http://www.amazon.com/Honda-94021-08000 ... B00AJVGBSA
http://www.partzilla.com/parts/detail/h ... 08000.html Good luck! Edited to add: Good on you G! The part with the OS at the end is the superseded part. I ordered it locally and when I picked it up, it was a 12mm nut. Downright dinky compared to what belongs on that head. G-man, once again you offer to come thru and you are far, far away. End of the month is when I actually need it. Motogiro is May 1 and 2 this year. But I can use a 13mm hex as a temp and replace it with the 14mm hex after. The 13mm is a common hardware store item. The puny 12mm is a Honda only item. By the way, anyone need a 12mm hex, 8mm thread acorn nut? My understanding is they are used on Gold Wing valve covers. If I strike out with other sources, I'll let you know before you come this way. Thanks and regards, Rob Rob
I arrive in NYC on 24th April so if you are still without the right part by then, let me know. G
