Chunk missing from engine case

I was chasing down an oil leak from my CB160, and found a big chunk of case missing from the clutch rod seal housing!
I am sure this is the source.
Is there anything to be done to seal it?
Short of pulling the entire engine out and welding it.
Someone really did a number on this case, probably trying to get the old seal out.

have you ever looked at JB weld? I used to fix VW cases that had cracked and it worked well. Super clean the spot make sure its ruffed up for the JB weld to grip.
Or take it apart and weld it.

I was thinking maybe that might be a way to go.
Thanks for the lead.
I guess the worst that happens is it doesnt hold.

It looks like somebody got the drive chain off the front sprocket at some time in the past. JB Weld will probably work to cover up the damage. Electric motor cleaner, in a spray can, will work good as a degreaser. The clip on the shifter shaft appears to be missing also, it needs to be there to keep the flat washer against the shifter shaft seal to shield it from grit.

True for the best chance to work you have to get it very clean then ruff it up for it to grip.

Thanks a ton guys!
Any idea where to source that clip?
Should I JB weld with the seal in place?
Or pop the seal out and JB it and then put the seal back in?
