So I just started to dismantle a 450k0 for restoration. I'm not new to motor disassembly, but I am new to vintage bikes. Can someone who's seen one of these oil filters throw out some advice. When removing this thing, the aftermarket manual says to remove the bolt in the center, screw an 8mm bolt in and pull out the cap by pulling on the 8mm. So i ran an 8mm in and tried pulling out.....no dice...this thing won't move. Am i missing something? Am I doing this right but mine is seized up somehow? Should I apply heat, or would that be bad here?

Thanks for all replies!!

Hi,

Did you got the bolt out just as the manual suggests ?
Does the engine look clean (behind the oil filter cover ) ?
Is it all black or is it nice and shiny ?

If it's not dissembled for a long time, the O-ring is holding things back,

Engine is very clean inside. I'm guessing that O-ring is just tight. I'll get it out.
