hey folks, i was wondering if anyone had a spare late model ca95 carb insulator they'd be willing to part with? i found them on ebay for $30 shipped, but i was hoping for something used in the $10-15 range -smile-. trying to keep the 'ratty benly' budget as low as possible. thanks !

mine was baked crispy when I went to remove it the edge around the bolt snapped off, good news thouigh I was able to superglue it back together using a " superglue accellerant " highly recommended for any super glue project instant cure ! so I have a repaired insulator that is not smooth , I place some 400 grit wet sand paper on a glass pane and move the insulator in figure 8 pattern across the paper ( how fiber optics are polished ) flip over and make sure both sides are perfectly flat , then to pervent it from splitting when I put it back on I elongated the holes with a Dremmel tool , works awesome and all it cost was a little time . for the interim i machined one from aluminum, basically to fill the gap and make the seal. when i bought the bike the carb was off of it and had been 'rebuilt'. when i looked at it originally i had figured i was getting a bike with no carb, so when the fellow ran into a small shed and returned with the carb in a baggie i was pleasantly surprised. it of course wasn't until recently, almost a year later, that I've started to tinker with this project and realized i was missing the insulator.
the good news is that after cleaning a large pile of acorn shells out of the mufflers she seems to run great! moving up to the tank now ... had a heck of a time getting the petcock off and apart. very bad !
