Hey, all. First off, hope you have a happy New Year. I'm looking at a '66 Bomber. Cosmetically, it's in nice shape. I've been corresponding with the owner and a couple days ago he sent this email. I've not owned a Bomber before and I want to know -- from those of you guys who have -- if this is a watch out or something that can be easily fixed. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. His email follows. Thanks. marc
"...my mechanic said that the bike would run until it got warm then shut down. He was the one that suggested the electronic ignition instead of the original points. I haven't worked on it or had anybody else work on it since. The kick starter works fine and the electric starter works if you jump the starter so that has a bad starter relay according to him also. Your best bet is to bring it to a mechanic or do it yourself and have the ignition put in and a starter relay installed. Not sure if this will fix it but that is what my guy suggested which is when I stopped putting the money into it. That's about all I can tell you other than what we have already talked about. The engine turns over freely has spark and good compression. I wish I could tell you more nut unfortunately that's all I know."
