Well, it looks like I can finally post some pics! Yellow bike is a 68, the blue a 69. Can't wait to see yours completed!

At this point the tank is completely done. Painted, wet sanded and installed. All correct warning decals and badges along with a new petcock installed. Looks pretty good if I must say so myself. It's starting to come together and when you think about it there's the same amount of components on this little bike as there are on the larger bikes.

The last photo shows the engine cases I got off Ebay. These new cases got the correct period serial number stamped on them to make it match the production date to the frame. The down side is I'll have to completely dissemble the engine again to switch it all over but it has to be done to make the little bike right.

I got the parts I needed to complete the wheels. Installed two new original Trail Wing tires, new tubes, all new bearings and seals. New brake shoes and new rear sprocket. Nice to see the wheels on the little frigger now.

Next is to do the carb. Then I'll rebuild the stator and last but not least I'll get the engine cases switched over and plant the engine. I'll be shutting down the shop and taking a little break with our military sons and I'll have more time then to work on this little bike and get it clued up. Lyle at CHP in Texas got a reproduction rear rack coming in for these hard tail Z50's and he said I'll get the first one in. He is another guy who knows good service and also knows quality. He supplied most of the big stuff for this project. Had a guy come in the shop today and say "putt'in together a new bike are ya"? I told him it was new 41 years ago and he just laughed and left again. My wife said "I don't think he believed you"!

Got the carb done tonight. Put on a new complete breather. It was cheaper to do that than to get the old one replated. New kit was installed. The rebuilding of the stator is next.

Paul, looking really nice! These little Hondas are so beautiful when properly restored. You're doing an excellent job, as usual, can't wait 'till you fing another bike you can't resist restoring!

Hi,

I think to color is quite right, very nice paint job.
Look at my candy sapphire blue (original paint) on my CD50-H.
