When I was looking for seals for my damper rebuild project, I eventually came across a guy on eBay selling these seals, part number 91254-216-000.
I have searched my Honda part manuals and cannot find this part mentioned, except in the CL160 parts manual, where it is listed as 90754-216-000 .
The part is a seal, dimensions 9 x 27.2 x 10 mm and there appears to be no other part number for any other model detailing a rear damper seal.
My question is; why did Honda detail a seal for only one bike, when the same seal was used several years earlier on the C72 / C77 and, presumably the C71 / 76? It was also used on the CL72 before the CB93 came along.
The part number 91254-xxx-xxx is listed for a number of models but it is not a seal for rear dampers.
Any thoughts from the parts book sleuths? Did honda have a bunch of rear shock failures on CL / CB160 / CB93?

Re: CB160/ CB93 Damper seal - a mystery? That's a great find. I always thought those seal were unavailable from honda for that exact reason. Maybe honda thought it was a little to much work for dealers to rebuild them with out set them up with more special shop tools?? and rather just replace the hole shock??
Thanks, Tim
Indeed - none of the other shock parts are listed although some manuals list the damper innards under a single part number.
I would just love to know what necessitated Honda listing it for the CB125 / CB160 but not for any other models.... G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72
