Gear Shift Shaft
Gear Shift ShaftHope someone on the forum can help me identify the following part. A few months ago I bought a used gear shift shaft for my 1967 CL-77. After a few months I finally got around to installing it. To my great disappointment found that the shaft was too long by about .194 inch. This prevents the left hand case from seating against the engine. The actual dimension between the seating surfaces on the shaft is 4.074 inches (103.48 mm). It's too bad as the shaft is in pristine condition & will need to sell it if I can identify it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Phil,
I searched for a previous post where I addressed this in the past to find a comparison photo and it's here http://www.honda305.com/forums/how-to-r ... 4610259020 When I did my search it looks like you asked the same question in November and G answered you??????????? http://www.honda305.com/forums/gear-shi ... 4610259020 HT HT
I thought I'd seen that before..... Tom - you answered it a lot better than me! Now I have some pictures to use when I go in the workshop and try and assemble these old engines...... :-) G '60 C77 '60 C72 '62 C72 Dream '63 CL72

Thanks H.T. The link you provided shows exactly the problem I encountered. I did a search of the forum, but don't recall seeing this post. G-Man was going to do more checking, but I never followed-up with him. I took a picture of the part, but after about 1.5 hrs. of trying this & that, could not get it posted with my message today. Thanks for the part number info. Will be looking to sell this part if anyone needs it.
