Code on the frame
Code on the frameDoes anybody know the meaning of this code on a 1968 frame?
It’s on the steering stem on the opposite side of the frame number. frame numberI agree with davomoto, it looks like a glued on plastic label.
We used those label makers in the 60's 70's ,they maybe still in use I don't know. It will probably peel off.

What about this label on the frame under the toolbox? The only words I could translate were small vehicle at the first line and Honda before CB250.
Hi Bech,
A while ago Jos Creussen (also from the Netherlands) had the same question, and he answered his own question (it was translated by a Japanese friend if him). This label is also placed on very early CB72 from 1659 to 1962 (on the top of the rear fork). It's a tag from the Japanese government, an official certificate. http://www.creusen-hiemerda.nl/Jos/CL72.pdf A lot of characters are the same, so read it, compare the characters and enjoy. Another clue of it's existence only in Japan. Jensen assembly of Japanese motorcycles requires great peace of mind (Pirsig)
