sup everyone, just picked up a bunch of parts to start me on my first build of a cafe superhawk. need some help to identify the parts though. i have one frame with the numbers cp771001996 or it could be 116 instead of the 996 at the end. the other frame is cb77-1035204. the engine is cp77e-1002001.
so i have been looking around the forum and found that the cp is a police model. is this good? honestly im kinda bummed on that fact. will all cb77 parts fit this cp77 engine? does it matter which frame i use with the engine? and can anyone tell me what year these are from?
thanks for any help

need to identifydeez,
I would venture to say the that your CP frame serial number ends in 1996 as it is so close to your CP engine of 2001. The frame and engine numbers are usually very close together, but not always exact. That being said my CB/CP knowledge is extremely limited, however I think the CB and CP engine/frames are very similar if not the same. I would use the CP combo to do up a cafe'. You could probably do an internet search and find out the differences between CB and CP models. Also there are others on this forum that can answer all your questions be patient and the answers will come. Hope that helps a little Ron Cribbs

Re: need to identifyActually the CP bike isn't a Police Bike. The CYP bike was and even not all of those were Police Bikes.
As I check my World Parts Book I find parts that are common with the CB/CP bikes but different with the CYP bike. There's nothing special good or bad between the CB and CP bikes. Your engine and frame are a MATCH so use that setup. All the engine parts are the same CB or CP. ..........lm
