And so it begins...

Here are the stats on my girl:
1964 CP77 Superhawk
CP771001761
11K miles
Purchased in Canada and shipped in March '08.
Currently living in New York City.

It appears to me well maintain and mostly original. The seat was in great shape which is more than I can say for the mufflers and front fender.

My kingdom for a garage!!!

and now after a year of daily commuting and minor repairs things are looking a bit better. I'm not looking for show quality, just a solid ride.

Here's what I've added so far:
  • Repro mufflers (Thanks Tim)
    NOS front fender
    Bates Saddle Bags
    straight Bars
    rear tire
    points
    mirrors
    tach cover
    all cables
    speedo
    grips

still to do:
New headers
Engine cleaning
Fork seals
Spare tank and headlamp housing to powder coating
chain & sprockets

This week I added a NOS Front fender, a new tach cover and new points. The gasket was a pain to remove on the tach side. And, I discovered what happens if you forget the O-ring under the input bushing. All in all, not a bad day.

Questions for you fellas.
Do you pre-oil the new gasket? Maybe a dab of grease?
How often should I grease the felt under the points?

Finally got out to the powder coaters. Here are the results.
I would give them a 4 out of 5.

Question: do you guys wax PC?
