Neutral light switch is behind the right crankcase cover and its wire is one of the 4 popping up through the hole in the crankcase (usually encased in black sheathing or heat shrink tubing). Green and yellow, I think. Ground that wire and if you get illumination at the neutral light you know you have a bad switch. If not, you have an issue between there and the bulb holder.

i got everything nearly sorted. except one minor issue:

the neutral switch will not light unless the bulb is grounded to the frame... but with the way the bulb is mounted (i did find the little rubber number) ... i do not see how it could ever contact the frame.

cheapo tip- a little tinfoil under the bulb in the black rubber neutral light mount made the neutral indicator lamp about twice as bright.

so close...
