The Superhawk from hell...Well, we have come full circle, back to the fundamental timing problem is bike has always had.
It sucks off the line big time, because it doesn't advance soon enough. This even after replacing the springs and having Ed look at them. You can fix it by advancing the timing, but then you are way way past the two marks when it finally does advance - around 4000. Funny thing is, even if you don't run it will excessive advance, it STILL runs out past the two mark if the idle timing is retarded all the way back to Top. That can't be right. Are rotors every off on these bikes? There is basically no way to set the timing that doesn't exceed the two marks at full advance. How much risk is there in exceeding the two marks? Because this bike is not going to ever run otherwise. And yes, I have been at this too long, and yes I have asked to many questions. But I have listened to everything I have been told and tried everything and its still a lemon. I was given this bike one year ago today. Put the 37 sprocket back on and dialed the timing back so it's just over the marks at advance.
Hard to start, but it's rideable. The torque from that big sprocket gets the revs up quick so it's not bogging down off the line. Just can't go very fast in each gear. It's going to need an actual fix for sure.
Here ya go: http://www.hondatwins.net/forum/viewtop ... 53&t=19763 , Pamco Pete has an electronic spark advance in the works.
