Black 1967 Superhawk
The crank nut is installed wrong side in.
If ya have installed the "brown/plastic looking friction plates I would recommend ya remove them and use the ones with the aluminum core and black neoprene as I see your clutch was/is a cush drive and if ya used the others ya have installed a much lesser disc. ..................lm
thats why im posting pictures!
so the nut on the crank end that holds the oil slinger sprocket and the clutch gear is backwards? so i should put it so the edge of the nut that is rounded faces in? is there a reason for this directionality? also, yes they are the brown plastic friction plates. they have lots of material on them so im gonna run them for awhile before switching over to the alum / neoprene.
If ya have the washer tab on the inside intact and the lock tab bent into the nut no problem as ya can leave it as is.
The rounded edge was so the washer wasn't damaged by the SHARP EDGE cause the tabs are bent out. Run what ya like but compare the contact area's and ya will know why I recommend using the aluminum core "cush drive" plates. HONDA made that change as the ones ya have installed would/will not hold up. I do the best I can to help and ya can prepare ta take the engine cover off in the future. Good Luck. ............lm
