1962 cb72 racer project1962 cb72 racer projecthere is another of my madness ideas .... inspired by the original 1962 cb72 I saw on ebay this past week ... I fell in love with the bike so I started making my own to rip around on .....
I just started mocking up based on the actual dimensions of the racer .... it wont be an exact replica but will be heavily influenced by the original bike
im considering this mod ..... yes or no ? im using a 305 motor I have as a spare for this build

I was a busy little beaver .... im far from done and figuring out the challenges of this build so far .... but I loosely mounted in the power plant into the stock cb77 with almost no modification of the frame, I just had to trim off the upper two engine mounts for clearance of the DOHC .... the sprockets lined up and I had to flip the stock cb77 rear tire ...
I also need to fab up a upper rear engine mount even though the rest of the mounts lined up easily ... im using a front black bomber rim so I can stop this beast .... we will see if this works. I need to fab up intake boots to level out the carbs as well .... ignore the paper mock up on the gas tank ... im welding steel in over the winter
after much research I knew I saw this type of racer before and I finally found the pic online
this is a cr77 305cc DOHC setup from 1962 I plan on keeping my style tank ( because I finally have it welded up in metal ) and I don't think my cb77 frame will easily fit this bread loaf style tank .... ignore the loosely attached exhaust mounts, im welding up new mounts so it attaches to the lower frame mount and not the swingarm bolt haha ... I had to verify road clearance
