I need a cb77 starter clutch assembly
I need a cb77 starter clutch assemblyMy '62 cb77 hasn't had a starter clutch for at least 40 years. I found one on ebay recently that is attached to a corroded rotor that looks like it has been under water for a long time— super rusty.
I understand that later cb77 starter clutches are interchangeable for use with early models. I need to buy the whole assembly complete with screws. Does anybody have this part for sale? '62 CB77, '76 XT500
It looks pretty good by the photos the seller provided— I hope so too, Tom!!
I have the original rotor that came with the bike. My grampa got it in the mid-70s in a derelict semi street/trail-bike state~ 38T rear, CL starter-delete plate, MX handlebars, no front fender, ugly beat-up holey shock absorber tins, nasty mufflers I should have kept(!!), missing one air-filter and a sporting a cracked RH case. In '75~'76 I put a Uni foam-filter on it and replaced the rings, plugs, points and condenser then gave it a 50 mile test-ride. I haven't ridden it since— I doubt that my grampa put many more miles on the engine after he got it from me!! It was also missing the choke-linkage for the right carb, tool-box, side-panels and chain-guard. My grampa gave it to me about 20 years ago with a water-filled perforated gas-tank. Only just this week got I tires, Dunstalls, air-filters and a battery. It looks like a motorcycle now!! I used to think it was an UGLY bike, but since then, I've learned about the bike's historical significance. I think it's pretty cool now!! In the last 10 years I've painted it and gotten lots of essential parts from the forum members~ especially from LM, e3Steve, georGe and FastFred. I really appreciate the help I get from this forum!!
