1967 CL77 fuel tank

Post by bweed2112 » Sun Feb 21, 2016 9:47 am

I am looking for a fuel tank for a '67 CL77 Scrambler.
The one i have has been sitting for 35+ years and is in bad shape, and from what i can tell is not actually the right tank for this bike.
The VIN # on the bike is CL771044608
Does anyone know of someone that has a proper tank for this bike or can point me in the right direction?
Thanks

Monkey claw has one. I have no idea what it would look like after media blasting but it isn't too expensive. I have no financial interest in this. Just trying to help.

Ok, went and looked at what I had for CL77 tanks. Found 3, 1 is seamless and could be for a CL72 or early CL77 (up through '66) 2 have seams and the extended tail piece. I believe they are '67. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

The seamless is in the best condition inside but has a dent repair attempt on the outside.
The center tank is solid but has some dents. Will need clean out also. The right tank is clean inside but has pin holes along the bottom edge on both side. I believe it is repairable, but probably not for an inexperienced metal person.

Seamed tank on a 67. By the vin that looks like the correct year.
