CL72 swingarm

Post by davomoto » Mon Feb 07, 2011 7:24 pm

I'm looking for a CL72, or 65 CL77 swingarm. It is for the early single leading shoe small hub, and needs to be for clevis mount shocks. I have a couple of the earlier ones that use eye to eye shocks, and a couple later for the large hub that use eye to clevis shocks. Will trade or purchase, let me know what you need. Also need a tool box for CL72 / 77

Davo,
I've got your 65 swingarm and Tool Box.
I can use the Eye to Eye swingarm and go straight up trade if you want. I bet it don't still have the japanese sticker on it. FWIW I bought a 63' 250 parts bike last month from a guy in Kentucky. When I got there to pick it up I noticed another scrambler sitting in the back of the shop. Someone had taken the rear wheel, swingarm(with the sticker), a flawless early seat, the pipes, and a "perfect" set of alloy fenders with the correct front stay off of the bike that I was buying and put all this stuff on a late model 305 with a bad engine. Guess they figgered the 305 would be worth a lot more when they got it "fixed up".

Just to verify that I get the right part, the biggest difference that I see is the casting on the early swingarm, with the clevis, is a socket to the tube where the large hub casting kinda forks over the tube where it is welded. I've got both styles loose right now and a couple of small hub swingarms still mounted on rollers.

Let me know,

Mark

Mark, sounds like you scored! Yes, it does still have the sticker, might have some overspray on it though. I'll take some pics when I get home.
