keihin carb partkeihin carb partI am restoring a '67 cl77 scrambler. I am in need of the carb top...the retaining ring that screws to the top of the carb. If someone wants to part with one, please let me know asap. The carb is stamped cl77 with a '26' on the side. Let me know what you want for it and I can pay through paypal if you like.
Thanks, Chris c_lehman67@hotmail.com
carb partI will have to check for sure but I'm thinking I have what you need. Do you need the ring only or the disk as well? I probably have both if needed. Rw
I only need the ring. Just received the bike and need some pieces parts. I could not find anyone who has just the ring here locally. The one in the box 'o goodies I got with the bike is broken in two pieces. Let me know and Thanks.
Oh yeah. One more thing that I'm not sure if I need or not. On the underside of the carb body if the bowl is removed, there are 2 holes. One on the left and one on the right. One of those holes in the other carb has a brass insert with a small hole in the center. The pathway exits on the side of the carb and appears to be a vent possibly for the float bowl. Is this brass insert needed to run? If it is, I have to find one of those as well. I can probably make something to takes its place, but I really need the retaining ring.
partsChris,
PM me an address and I'll send you the ring. RW
me tooI need one of those carb-top rings, too...left one on bike has stripped threads, will almost tighten up, then slips...it's held on with two zip-ties at this point, works ok, but would really prefer to get it right...
about the rubber disks/gaskets...I seem to remember when disassembling old carbs that these gaskets were sortta thin and floppy...ones on rebuilt carbs are relatively thick and stiff, appear to be two plies...thinking that with thinner gasket those threads would be able to catch... if you (rw) or anyone else can help, I'd sure appreciate it...my parts manual doesn't show a separate number for this part, anybody know if there's a number for it? seems like this is a replacement part Honda would have made, those threads are pretty easy to strip. Thanks, Lee '62 CB77. "It's a rider."
partsLee,
The ring I have came off a carb that was so corroded it could not be salvaged and will soon be on its way to Chris. I'll look and see if I have another I can part with. I'll get back PM if I do. RW
