Need rear shoes??
Need rear shoes??Anyone know where I might find a set of rear brake shoes for my 65 305 Dream. Thanks, Paul
What's wrong with the set in the bike? I don't think I've ever seen worn out rear brakes- unless you just want to replace as part of the restoration process.
Have you tried Honda? Brake pads are the sort of thing they should still carry. Sirius in Canada seems to have a pretty good vintage Japanese MC business going. If they are the same as Superhawk brake pads I have a used set you can have free! Matt
Also into Alfa Romeo Giuliettas and Giulias! Looking for a Giulia Super.
Matt my lining seperated from the aluminum portion of the shoe. When I removed the rear hub it all just fell out on the floor. Gee they just don't build them like they used to! Appreciate the offer and advice. I'm going to run down to my local Honda dealer tomorrow and see if they can match something up. Dealing with them is like haveing a tooth pulled! thanks again. Paul
Until just now I didn't realize that the fronts and rear were not the same. Or maybe I just got lucky with what I put in there. But I am 99% sure I bought one new set. I took the slightly used ones from the front and put them in the rear and then put the new ones in the front. It has worked ok for the last 2000 miles this summer.
That said on my latest 100 mile ride I did have somewhat of a brake drag but was fixed with backing off the adjustment nut a turn or two. It must not be to obvious that they are different....
