Back in the day, all we saw were blue 250s in the UK. Even the adverts showed the blue bike. The way they photographed it, the engine covers seemed to reflect some of that blueness. I was captivated. I'd never seen a bike like that or a photo like that.

I have no idea what number were imported of any color into the US, so I'm not trying to extrapolate that anecdotal evidence.

yep from what i know . which is not alot:) most of the blue were inported to the uk and canada
but lets just say out of the 750 sold in the us 1/3rd were blue=250 in 64 and it;s now 2011 YIKES.
lol thats why i am having a hard time deciding on keeping it or not. and yesterday i bought an orig. honda "dealer service tester" on ebay to use on it or include it with the bike if i put it on the block i don't know just the thought of having it with the bike sounded kinda cool to me lol

Thanks guys I appreciate your comments. I'm looking in the range of 1,500 to 3,500 range. To be honest, I would much rather have a close to original bike, but if it's not and runs good then fine. I'm a cafe fan, but to be honest I'd much rather see this bike looking closer to the original. I've been looking for the CB72 250s, had no idea there were that little stateside! Guess I know why I can't find that one!

When I get one I will keep you guys posted. The itch to ride is getting too great, I may settle for a 350 for now and bide my time to get the perfect Superhawk.

Jake,

I don't know if this is O.K. here but have you seen this one? It doesn't state where in Ohio you are and this is in southern WV but it's still a reasonable trip. It's been on there for awhile so maybe you might get it in your price range. (I made a 13.5 hour round trip to get my Dream)

I have the same data somewhere
(I just recalled this is from CLASSIC MOTORCYCLES MAG) but don't recall the supplier but I also have data from Bill Silvers numbers which show frame and engine numbers which show a lot more numbers issued/sold? for the entire production years.
What ya going to believe? .................lm
