WANTED - 1962 Tail Light LensWANTED - 1962 Tail Light LensI'm currently collecting the parts needed to restore a 1962 CB77. One of the things I'm searching for is a tail light lens. In early '62, the lenses were similar to those used in later years, but shorter. See the photos, below. My parts catalog does not list a number for that earlier part, just that for the later, longer, version. Does anyone hear happen to have one of the shorter version lenses for sale or know where I might find one? I've searched in all the usual places. FYI, the shorter '62 lens shown is cracked and should be replaced.
Re: WANTED - 1962 Tail Light LensSir, can't help you with the lens, but a question if I may.
I see a number of folks mentioning a "Parts Catalog." Is this something that was/is available, and if the latter, where can they be had? Thank you.... and good luck with the lens. Re: WANTED - 1962 Tail Light LensHonda released paper parts catalogs from time to time. I have one printed in 1969 and have just found another printed in 1964. You can usually find originals or copies on eBay or Kijiji. Cost is usually somewhere under $100. There's an original on eBay now for $39.95 and a copy for $24.75. OR, if the cost is prohibitive, just use the one offered on the CMSNL website online at https://www.cmsnl.com/honda-cb77-super- ... j8REi2ZPus The paper copy is far more useful, in my opinion.
Re: WANTED - 1962 Tail Light LensBrain kicking in after I sent that, and did a quick search on eBay..... finding a few that looked decent. One I noticed was from an outfit in NZ.
I picked up one of their (pricey) manuals a few weeks ago. Really decent repro of an original Honda Manual and realized that after I got it (used to have one with CL #2). They touted a lot of CL77 stuff in their eBay ad, and the cover indicates the same, but the only CL-specific material that I could find was the model number shown on the cover. Little disappointed. Cl72 and CL77 mechanics are kinda connected at the hip, but you really need to read between the lines to sort it out. Anyway, thank you, and we'll pick one sometime in the future.
