Help me....I may be an idiot

Post by bonsaibill » Tue Jan 24, 2012 1:04 pm

I am attempting to wire a 65 dream. I redid the dimmer/horn switch and wired it in. I got as far as turning switch..light comes on....flip switch and high beam and high beam indicator lights up. So far so good. I had the headlight burning and tried to wire up the tailight when I must have stuck the wrong wires together and there was a pop and then no lights.
I checked the fuse and it looks fine and I jumped the fuse...still no lights. I checked the bulbs in the headlight and they are fine.
What have I done and how can I fix it?

Hey bonsaibill,
sounds like there is a shorting in the wiring somewhere, is it possible that the connectors are exposed to the frame or bright metal grounding? could be that the taillight switch & bulb connectors are switched, make sure blue is to blue and white to white. I know this post is from last week so you probably have figured it out by now.
