Wiring Diagram Question

Post by mcmig » Sat Jun 13, 2015 8:14 am

Hi,

On the following diagram for the Head Lamp, the red and blue wires, which one is the low beam?
It says Main for blue and red for dimmer. I thought Main would be low beam, but dimmer for High beam? No sure I understand the wiring terminology right.

Thank you for your help.

Blue is the high beam, red is low (dimmer). If you hook up blue to blue and red to red inside the headlight bucket, you will have the stock setup. The "dimmer switch" will be on low-beam (dimmer) when rotated up and forward, high beam (main) when rotated down and aft. A little counter-intuitive maybe, but think of the switch as rotating the headlight and you will be OK.

I am switching the standard incandescent bulb to a LED one and it has different wire colors for High and Low beam, that is why I am asking. But you have answered my question, thank you very much.
