Brake light switch issue

Post by jazwal13 » Sun Aug 31, 2014 8:47 pm

Hey guys.
I am trying to get my brake switch/light to function properly and am having trouble. I've worked on a lot of bikes, but have little experience with the Dream, and am a little confused here. I'm working on a 1962, by the way. On all the other bikes I've had, when you push down on the rear brake lever, it pulls down the brake switch, causing the braking light to come on. However, on this bike, it seems to do the opposite, it pushes up on the switch. Is this correct? Right now the brake light is on, but when the lever is engaged, the light goes completely off. I've tested the bulb, and it is not burned out. Thanks in advance.

the dream switch, when pulled out should have continuity. when retracted, no continuity. I would suspect that your monkey motion linkage is not assembled correctly.
