Battery Tender

Post by fab60 » Tue Jun 03, 2014 2:55 pm

Hey guys just curious to see how many of you use a battery tender. I have been using tenders on all my old bikes but just curious how long does it take for the battery to drain without a tender? Or do you guys even use on the superhawk?

Cheers

I for one use a tender and one of the first things I install is a tender cable even on a more modern bike. I've had scrambler batts go flat enough to not allow a start in a couple weeks. Always have a fresh charge that way. JMO,,,,,Rusty

I use one all the time and owning one is mandatory for anyone with multiple and or old bikes. I've replaced my Battery Tender with a Noco Genius that has multiple settings for other battery types like AGM. It also utilizes a recovery stage for sulfated batteries or heavily discharged ones.
It's also a good way to monitor your charging system, by letting you see how long it takes before you get a green light condition.

I have one on my 66 305 scrambler.....it works great. I have a friend who has them on his Harley, 34 Ford street rod, 59 Chevy (what became the El Camino) and he swears by them. They work!
