1966 CA77 replaceable headlight bulb
1966 CA77 replaceable headlight bulbI'm sure this has been asked a million times, but where can I find a replaceable headlight bulb for my 1966 CA77? I have a few CA95 6 volt bulbs that fit but naturally they burn out after 5 minutes being only 6 volts.
I've tried EBay, Ohio Cycle, Google and all the others but no luck. All I need is the stupid bulb. Thanks
CA is a big state; come on, you can to better than that!
You're one of the lucky ones, it seems, with a replaceable-lamp unit. There must be places in the US (perhaps Retro Bikes?) that sells them. Can you post a pic of the lamp and / or back of the beam unit separately? Possibly APF (American Pre-Focus) fitting. Paul Goff (Goffy) carries most in stock, in the UK. Here's a chart of lamps for your guidance.
I'm working on locating a 12v for ya. .........lm

Thanks guys for the quick replies. Fred, I'm just not sure what you have would fit. I think what the previous owner did, he took the bayonet fitting from an old bulb and fitted it to a regular bulb. I might give that a try.
I had a similar situation with my CA95 and lucked out one day with a guy in the Mojave Desert who had eight of the bulbs. I think the diode idea might just be the way to go. I still would rather have the proper bulb. I have a loooong way to go with this bike.
