"Sealed Beam" Dream Headlamp with replace-able xen

Post by Kevmcp » Mon Oct 04, 2010 12:33 pm

I would like to know how many of you would consider a precise reproduction of the Dream Sealed Beam headlamp that allowed you to switch out the bulb from the back when it went out. The bulbs could be a Xenon HID. I am not sure how many of you can't find headlamps that work both high and low, and, as I am a night rider, the weakness of the original 20/40 lo-hi bulbs.

Would you pay up to $100 for something like this?

Let me know.....

Hi,

I have xenon on my CB72, but I encountered severe electrical problems in the beginning.
Make sure your voltage is absolutely stable, and you have to change your wiring.

The Xenon / HID is using stabilised battery voltage, so DC that is. The Xenon / HID does need an extremely high voltage to start up, and this voltage comes from 12 V, thus you have to realize that the start up currents are very high. The next problem is the frequency, witch will interfere with you electrics on board. And you have to place the ballast somewhere (close to the headlight).
