cb77 starter problems

Looking for advice on electric starter problems. Actually, the starter wants to engage and turn all the time-even when i just turn the key to the run position. Have disconnected the cable to the starter for now. any help would be appreciated. the basic the better.

When my Dream did that there was a short in the starter button. I took it apart and reassembled it. Had no problems since.

And if that isn't the problem, check the solenoid to be sure it isn't shorted internally and always on.

if you disconnected the starter wire them most likely your starter button is stuck on, or the wire is touching the frame somewhere. This is the prob with mine.

There are a couple of ways.


Remove the side panel to access the solenoid. Disconnect the starter button lead and see if that fixes the problem. If so, it's the button.

If it still tries to start, disconnect the battery and check for continuity between the two lager connections (battery and starter). If there's a connection with no power, it's permanently on.
