Headlight assembly

Post by Eljeef » Tue Jun 22, 2010 9:35 pm

Has anyone tried to re-silver the back of their headlight assembly on their bike? Is there a special paint made for this? Mine is a bit rusty and I can see through the glass in spots. Jeff.

replacement headlights are so cheap, I think resilvering would cost more than buying a new one.

Not so, the C77 Headlamp. Ohio Cycle has a part listed with no price which I think means no availability. It's not easy to come by these odd shaped headlamp units with the inserted bulb. If you have a source for inexpensive Dream lamp housing and bulb please pass it on.

Hmm, didn't know about the dream lights. I guess the round CB lights are much easier to come by.

Anyway, did some poking around and found these links that might be helpful. Not sure if any of them is a good solution for you:

Thanks for those links. I think the bottle of pure silver looks like the trick. I'll just have to get the surface rust off first. Cheers, Jeff H.
