A few posts on this subject in the past; so I thought I'd take some pics of my inherited winkers, after refitting/re-wiring them. These are similar http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-V ... 394wt_1055 but have plastic bodies. I bought a set last year, just for the lenses, which are the same as the ones I already have. The plastic ones are OK, especially for the money!
Flasher units (relays) are freely available from most bike shops. Both 6V and 12V.
The switch was the most expensive (and rarest) item; $200 from Japan!
The brackets came with a set of AM rear footpegs from thor212 on eBay. I couldn't use the pegs, but they are dinky. The brackets worked a treat after a bit of adjustment, partially countersinking with a 16mm countersinker, to fit over the upper rear suspension mounts. The grey tubing covering the ends of the studs and the wires is just a stripped-off length of multicore cable jacket.
The fronts are just in place of the headlamp bolts. The plastic ones probably won't have long enough studs, so drilling & tapping a pair of bolts with an M8 thread would be the best route.
Just some ideas for the pot.
CB winkersGood work!Nicely done, Steve. Understated and very good looking.
Thanks man! I know the whole job isn't 'proper', but it's as close as I could get to CP77 spec. Anything to make riding safer on the Wacky Races Majorcan roads! The car drivers just don't give a toss about others; right selfish bastards here!! They drive with the foresight of myopic bats -- 2 metres ahead of the front bumper -- with 90% luck, 8% fear and 2% skill. Hence my reasons for a brighter headlamp, winkers and air-horns........ Ya gotta be noticed, here!
